Comments (3)Try looking at some Google images of flowering quince (Chaenomeles). Their flowers could easily look like small single or semi-double camellias, and they do have thorny branches. Deciduous, where camellias are evergreen, but also a likely suspect for something that might have been planted on an old farm in the Midwest. - Steve...See MoreMichael Miller x Leslie Renee
Comments (9)Lovely seedlings. I like them all. Like Betsy, I have been buying seeds on the Lily Auction from daylilies I really like but are too expensive. Plus I love the anticipation and growing them from seeds. Some auctions had more seeds of that cross than I want to plant. I have been trying to decide what to do with them. Do daylily gardeners ever swap some of the extras that bought on the LA with other buyers? They would have more crosses than they purchased and get rid of some extras they don't want. What is the average number (if there is one) of seeds from one cross that the average gardener would plant? 5? 10? More? Should we start a post for exchanging extra seeds that were purchased? Comments (23)Hi prairiemoon2 (Ann), My 'April Remembered' looks quite a bit like your plant. I'll try to take pics. I asked for the middle size, but they sent a smaller one and a refund check. Guess they ran out. My 'Winter's Rose' is quite large --maybe it will bloom this Fall... I didn't see any arrows or 'this end up' on my box, and true to form, Fed-Ex stood it up the long way --I think 'April Remembered' was hanging above 'Winter's Rose', but they were held in by tight string and nothing was harmed. --And my husband got the box in almost as soon as it was delivered. (I was tracking it!) Mine are still in their plastic bags sitting in my den, I'm ashamed to say. But I'll be planting 'Winter's Rose' almost immediately. --As soon as I move a peony I just planted last Fall. That should be an easy move. 'April Remembered' will have to go into a pot while I figure out where to plant it. Good luck with yours too! Hope to share photos of the new beauties in the future....See MoreCamellia 'Leslie Ann'
