What do you do for a living?
Comments (150)What diversity! >^..^50 yo female, married 27 years this August. 3 "kids".... 19 yo daughter (who works 1 1/2 jobs & is going back to college in fall & just got her own apt), 21 yo son in Guam (Navy) and 23 yo daughter married/living in Long Island-wants to go to flight school. 3 kitties. Love your pet pics! I'm a fulltime 1:1 Teaching Assistant in our school district, working in a regular classroom with students who have special needs. In summer I work with OCM BOCES doing the same (summer school). My students keep me running (often literally!) Gary (hubby) is so excited now that spring has FINALLY arrived, as he just tolerates his job, and detests winter...so he lives for the sounds of birds, and gardening and riding his motorcycle! Oh, and we are involved in our church-ushering, working with kids programs, taking care of the rose/perennial garden we planted there 5 years ago, and also do motorcycle day trips with about 25 friends there. :0) Phyl...See Morereview of rad system and twp #516 on ipe deck
Comments (59)Great forum! I have decided to let those cans of Penofin lie dormant in my garage and go with a new product. I was considering TWP as George and Eddie at East Teak recommend. For me that is going to the dark side as I believe once you go for the sealer there is not turning back! Then the "Zodic" appears! Im looking at saving labor so this is very appealing! Quick question for both Obi Won and Darth TWP: Can I mop off the excess with a sponge mop instead of getting non hands an knees with Rags? With "Zodic", will I need two coats to get started? Can I spray on TWP on my Ipe Furniture and wipe off with rag? Ken, your saying we can use "zodic" on wood just a few hours after "Rad" treatment??? When is the "Zodic" site going to be ready? Bottom line is more competition means more choices! Thanks to all again for the great info on this site!...See MoreReality check needed. Custom guy is not an 'artist', am I picky?
Comments (58)Deedles - first...a virtual hug for you. I haven't read all of the posts here, but some seemed a bit harsh. I hope that you don't become discouraged from posting here. You know, most of us have NEVER done this before and have limited knowledge...most of us go into this going, "I'd like to get a new kitchen and I'd like to get one that will look nice and last." Most of us have no IDEA initially of what really makes for a good or bad cabinet. And really, why would we? Most of us land here because we Googled something about kitchens and low and behold...you find a group of TKO individuals. And you begin to look at your kitchen renovation with completely new eyes, hopes, and expectations. There are many, many, many good things that I have gathered in my time here. But, I've also learned that in many cases some of the things we are obsessing over about cabinets often don't amount to too much when they are in place. We just tore out a kitchen that was installed in the 1970-ish era. It was old time melamine(?) type cabinets with a faux-walnut color. They were simple cabinets. The doors stayed closed with a magnet. The drawers were side slides and were nothing even remotely close to dove-tailed. And you know what...the cabinets were still perfectly functional. Nothing was falling apart. Now, I'm not saying that we shouldn't endeavor to get the best quality possible. But, there might be a little bit higher concern over things than the average person has. And if our "crappy cabinets" that were in our previous kitchen could stand up to 40-50 years of service, I'm hoping that these new ones might do the same. Hang in there. It sounds like your cabinet guy will work to provide you with what you want...you just might need to become better versed in the overall construction aspects than you intended and you'll have to detail those things out. And it might be a little higher cost than you initially planned. Good luck. Once again - hang in there. :)...See MoreSS Weekend Support - Thur. 2/26 thru Sun. 2/29
Comments (46)Gretchen~Thanks. It isn't a question at all. Please send it to Marci first. I still have some catching up to do! :) Congrats to DD. NH Suzanne~I may have said this before but FL drs. on a whole, do not believe in CFIDS or Fibromyalgia although they are recognized in the Armed Services, SS, WHO, CDC, the USPS, etc. So, that is why I travel so far. It is fun to go look for dolphins though so I enjoy that part & we really have the best therapist & psychiatrist there too. If we had the money, we would move over there in a heart beat, I think. Susie~Have a great time. Amy~WTG on writing the book. Perhaps we will both be authors one day. Jen~Sorry about the illnesses you & the girls have had. [[[[ H U G S ]]]] BJ~What movie did you go see? I cannot resist the popcorn. Doh! Raeanne~Virginia seems like a closer goal to me but I still don't know what will happen between now & then. Maddie~Always on the go. You take some time to rest, all right? Hi to all that I've missed. I hope that everyone is out having a good weekend. Everytime I take a nap, I get a headache. Kind of like when you go to the dr. & say, "Dr. it hurts when I do this." And, he says, "So, don't do that." I just cannot keep my eyes open. LOL So, I'm off to take something for it.
