I prefer A. those are the same pulls I'm looking at getting! The Candler by Amerock. Where did you find them "for a steal"?

What if you did the Candler knob on the top drawer in the center? Or maybe a smaller pull but not THAT small on the top. So, if the two bottom pulls are 18", use a 12" on the top drawer.

Thanks to all who posted since last night. C is out, so it's down to A or B. So many of these subjective decisions boil down to a gut feeling at the end of the day. I have an entire hour to grind over this. :)

tibbrix: I found them on Amazon last July for about $15, but just the satin nickel (all other colors were upwards of $100!). So sorry to report that I don't see them for that price any more. Do periodic searches for BP29367G10 to see if they pop up for any less. I'll keep an eye out for you (how much of a hurry are you in?). Also, call me spoiled by that $15 price, but I just can't see spending upwards of $40 for a 12" pull. :)

mayflowers: also 5'6 here and fairly limber. But I'm thinking 10 years down the line (aging in place...gulp!) -- no carpe diem for me, nope! ;) I don't think I can functionally go wrong with B, so I'm trending towards B. 52 minutes and counting -- though, I could buy some time if I set up the coffee station for the workers!

Rail placement: in addition to my comment above about wanting/needing to pick up that extra 1/4" to offset the pull's deep projection, and no offense to anyone's kitchen, but photos with drawer pulls on rails seem off to my brain.

mayflowers: regarding my drawer configurations, I followed the Buehl School of Inventorying Stuff for Drawers and these worked best for me. This exercise took a week out of my life, but well worth the time spent!

Not reading all responses, but I'd vote for the first one, A.

B looks a bit weird with the bottom handle raised. To me it makes more sense to give each drawer its fair share, i.e. centered.

C just looks dinky with that little tiny pull.

I'd go for A. The bottom drawer looks bigger and more impressive that way. It's an optical illusion but B makes the bottom drawer look smaller than it is.

PLEASE don't put square knobs on that drawer. It makes it look like some kind of weird face. Plus, (she whispered) if you're anywhere as OCD as I am, you'll spend your life straightening those knobs to square every time they get turned a little.

Know the story about stopping fairies by throwing rice on the ground? They have to stop and count every single grain? I'd be in the kitchen fixing knobs every day before I was able to leave the room.

As much as the cool factor the knobs might have, I can't imagine trying to open the drawers with 2 knobs. One would have to use 2 hands, wouldn't they? Seems like a function problem to me. And, caddywhampus square knobs would put me over the edge.

Square knobs have teeth that keep them in place.

CEF: yeah, I saw that face, too. :) But knobs of any kind are off the table -- esp wasn't fond of the square ones that went with this line. I'm trying to tamp down my OCD tendencies on this end, but it's difficult!

nightowl: really interesting that you mentioned that. This will be my baking supplies drawers (the first two, anyway), and I full envision my frequently opening that top one, hands gunky with flour/batter and hooking the drawer open with crooked pinky!

Well, somersetlass, call this a blessing or a curse, but the workers have arrived and it'll likely be a few hours before they place the pulls. So, knowing me, I'll obsess a bit longer. I don't want to get in their way, so I'll need to do a few more mock-ups. Plus, I'll visually need to consider the corner unit to the right of these cabinets, and the bank next to THAT one:

B, ditto on the no square knobs...

IMHO, A looks the best. C looks weird. If your rails were a little wider I put the handles there (but your have to make sure the screws go through to the boxes not just the rails).

I think the double drawers will look better with the pulls placed as in B. It feels more kitcheny to me.

Javiwa, you need to edit out choice C!

I also pick B for both form and function! And no to the combination of knob and pulls - that looks too weird to me. I also like pulls on stiles, but agree that perhaps yours are a bit too narrow to look right.

Kat: Amerock was really good about including several sets of screws, multiple lengths, for any eventuality.

Have definitely decided no to C...off the list! :)

BTW, in case this matters, the pulls may look a bit 'off' because of the mock-ups themselves. The top 'drawer' is just the drawer header, propped up on a box. And the other two are the drawers pulled out and tipped onto their backs on the floor. I had to take the aerial views standing atop a wobbly kitchen chair, so angles look kinda funky.

can you do a mock up of the pulls on the stiles, just to see how they'd look?

Carrie: might be a bit of a stretch as I'd have to pull out the lower drawers, and I don't want to interfere with the workers. If I can manage during their short lunch break, I will.

nightowl: Thanks to you and all for the compliments. Ten years ago (when people were still scrapbooking -- pre-Pinterest -- and long before I ever thought I'd do a kitchen reno of any sort), I'd ripped out and saved a pic of cabinets this same color (albeit as a bathroom vanity). I never fell out of love with this look, and now it's come to pass! Cabinets are solid maple, and color is a stain plus wash (Showplace cabinets: Rockport Grey wash).

I must admit I oohed and aahed at countless photos of beautiful white kitchens for months, and was convinced I wanted a white (painted) kitchen. Until, that is, I walked into a showroom and saw painted cabinets. Not that they weren't well done, but the white painted surfaces were simply too uniform/flat a look for me. I kicked myself that I'd forgotten how much I LOVE (needed?) wood grain in my world. We've always had wood grain furniture, cabinets, etc. So, for me, the grass was indeed NOT greener on the other side.

The kitchen place -- Wow. OT, but could you please do similar with an inset cabinet? 2" to the floor, no diagonal corner. Three drawers 35 inches wide on the left (6", 9", 14") with stiles and rails 3.5 inches only on the bottom drawer. To the right, a 6" tall drawer 17" wide on top with a cabinet door below with 3.5 inch stiles and rails? I have separate drawings, but no 3D of the whole corner.

OP - those square knobs might look fun on the 2 deep, square drawers in the diagonal.

Still liking second option (A2). Even more so now that you have more than one drawer stack to look at.

In all fairness to you, pippiep (and has been pointed out in this forum), it's tough to make a call on something like this without seeing the big picture -- or, in my case, seeing the adjacent cabinets. Oh, no...if everyone starts changing their votes, I may have to do a recount! ;)

I still highly prefer A2 when looking at the rendering of the whole cabinet run. There's a consistency to it that appeals to me.

More importantly, your stain/wash is fabulous. First time I've ever had second thoughts about my painted cabinets, which I love. My Fantasy Brown quartzite would look great with those cabinets.

Nightowl, that is a lot of customization...would take a longgg time. If I get caught up with work I will do it for you....but I don't want to set a precedence here that I can do this for everyone. Houzz is world-wide. Yikes!! If you're working with a kitchen dealer, they should be able to help you out too. Sometimes you just have to ask.

Just for grins, and by popular demand, I snuck into the kitchen and snapped this shot. Granted, the oversized pull is sitting on a 27" wide drawer (instead of the 36" up top), but you get the idea. The pull ends completely swallow the entire rail:

I'd want to see how it looks on all three, like the other mock ups, but I may very well be in the minority - I seem to be the only rail advocate.

Lily: To me, double small pulls makes the drawers look too much like a dresser that belongs in a bedroom. It's my personal preference to go with a single pull.

benjesbride: I'll be using the same pulls, but in 96mm/~3-3/4" CTC (visually ~ 5-1/4" long).

Surprisingly, I didn't change my mind like usual. I still like B/A2.

Well, almost. :) Installers mis-measured and placed the upper right too high. If it were just this one thing, I'd redo it myself. However, they replaced the lower drawer to the right, and now it doesn't close all the way (sticks out 3/8" in front of the upper drawer). Since they need to come back out to fix that, I'll have them remedy a few other outstanding issues.

They also attached the lower beneath the oven, but I just finished the upper hardware just now. Now that I've got the hang of it, I'll just work my way around the kitchen.

It's been 14 months, but our refrigerator will finally make it back into the kitchen!!!!!

TY, Romy! It was so gratifying and fun (yes, fun!) to rev up our drill and get almost all the pulls attached. Hit a small snag as the screws that came with the pulls were too short, 1-1/2s still too short, and the 1-3/4s were a bit too long. So, spent some time Dremeling ~ 1/8" off each one. Fingers desperately crossed for a pre-Thanksgiving countertop installation, but will settle for temporary plywood, if necessary.

I am bumping this thread because I have to make this same decison right now... And am very strongly leaning toward the A2 rendering above. Which is funny, because in my post above, I said I preferred the first one (all centered vertically). I remembered this thread, so I had to come back and look. :)

javiwa, if you're still here, do you like the pull placement now that you've lived with it for a while?
