Interesting leaf on Striptease

Looking through some photos taken this summer, I found this among them. I thought "wow, if only I could get a sport with leaves like this." I didn't separate it, but just checked on it from time to time. During the season the yellow faded. I'll have to see what happens next year.

That leaf sure is interesting! Spring always brings so much promise... I, too, am hoping that the very wide white margin on a leaf returns as part of an eye and that indeed, I will have a sport of Antioch come spring.

Fingers crossed that the anomaly on your Striptease returns - that would be a very cool sport, wouldn't it? :)

I like that version of a Striptease leaf. Every year I have at least one hosta that throws out something different. So far they've never returned the same way the next year. This year Sleeping Beauty gave me a cute little half & half leaf.

aka Persicaria virginiana, probably 'Lance Corporal'. Depends on how one defines 'invasive' but it is a prolific seeder as well as spreader under the right conditions. The common name is Virginia knotweed, if that gives you any clues :-) And it is happier in more shade than sun. btw, it is not even remotely related to hostas.

I hope you have a sport of Antioch too Jo! It is fun to see something a little different going on. I up potted this Striptease in spring to a 16 inch pot. I think that's the maximum I'm going to go due to its weight. I'd sure love to see a bit of yellow next year.

Very cute leaf on your Sleeping Beauty sandyslopes! I won't count on mine coming back next year. But if it did, I'd be ecstatic! And the forum would be the first to know,

Last year I had three leaves (from one shoot) on my Earth Angel that were atypical. It didn't come back this year.
