Not sure where Lavender found hers but I am pretty sure I got mine at Walmart. If it wasn't Walmart than it was Target.

Interesting. Thanks for the shelf liner link! I had contact liner in my kitchen and after around 18 years it just began to look ratty (even after all that time I still really liked the pattern, it was blue checks with a little design on it), but unlike this new product you could not remove it. I really like that this new product can be easily removed when it gets awful and not damage your drawers.

First, I want to thank everyone for their 'thumbs up' on the liner.

I believe I got this a few years ago at Fred Meyer. I don't know if it's still available. It is contact paper...so not easily removable, once you stick it down. But can be ripped out and replaced, if necessary. (I found this out in another area of the house.)

I liked the pattern, so I got it. Then a few months ago, I got the paint. I didn't even realize they matched, until I started pulling out my stash of kitchen supplies/accessories last week :)

LL - we must be drawn to the same colors. This is the dry sink I painted. Almost the same color as your walls. I have always been drawn to greens, Blues & yellows.

I'm gonna look for that shelf paper next trip to W. If none there, I'll order it. I don't really need any right now but you never know and if I wait there won't be anything I like as much as this! can't hurt to have a roll or 2 up in the closet... I am hoping to have a lower cab in the kit changed into 3-4 drawers this coming yr - I can use it in those drawers.

Dishwasher is not working, again! I can't finish floor tiles, until they get this right. But....we have been working on the dining room! Finally got the chandelier installed this weekend :)

MamaGoose- No twigs or bird nests (LOL) but I do love that deer picture! I found it at Goodwill and had to bring it home. I find most of my art there...and garage sales.

With the other elements of the space, simple (rather rustic) seemed the way to go in this room. It's a bit Tudor/Gothic...or maybe woodland fairytale? I'm never sure what to call this look! But the nook (next to it) will have a bit more bling :)

This will be off the kitchen, with my mom's wicker and some cute
fabrics. More 'girlie' like the kitchen....and a neat surprise! Mom
found her mom's quilt in storage. It's fairytale characters! How
perfect is that? LOL So it will be hanging in the nook, too. Will post

I don't get periwinkle, either, but I do get a bright and cheery green. I love your pieces. I'm a hunter-gatherer, too, as you know, so I appreciate all you've brought together.

You've worked so long and hard on your kitchen, with life throwing you so many weird curves. I feel like we're in the same boat many times. It just shows to go 'ya, that time lets you make other choices. Offers new information and sources. And lets you live with something before you decide to let it move on.

It rained most of the weekend, but finally got a new picture. You can see we use blue spray paint to mark the beds.

And here's an older picture (but one of my favorites) with a closer view of the double bench/arbor.

We have some vines in pots...on the front porch that we hope to plant, if it ever stops raining. Five leaf akebia and a honeysuckle. The akebia is already starting to bloom.

Not my picture, but just wanted to show how pretty the blooms are....and they're supposed to smell like chocolate : )

Does anyone else have lilacs blooming? I posted a few online. The fragrance is so wonderful...it travels across the yard. We have a lot of lilacs : )

I do! I love the way they smell too! By far one of my favorite fragrances.

Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers...of course, they are purple! LOL But they're so pretty and the fragrance is amazing.

Thank you for the kind words. I've been working on my pages the last few weeks and it's been fun. I almost sprained my toe (silly accident) but I'm almost back to being able to wear my boots. So planting the garden this week...at least the middle beds! When we finish that, we're planning to paint the kitchen! I'm so excited to get the base cabinets all the same color...at least on the sink wall : )

Texas- I am only a pro on the website/blog category...although I did sell furniture and do a little design work, years back. But gardening is so much fun. It's amazing how creative one can be, even on a limited budget. And the garden changes a little every year....which is fun, too.

I forgot to include the white lilac. I had to practically climb on top of a shed to get this picture, but it was worth it! : )

No lilacs yet. This was the weekend for the glorious flowering crabs, always right on time for Mother's Day! The forsythia and star magnolias are ending, I think the Bradford pears are still shining, and our little redbud finally proved it IS a redbud with blossoms :)

I have one exciting update for the little nook/bistro area off the kitchen. I finally got pictures of my grandmother's quilt. It's so beautiful and I'm so happy to have it in our home. My mom found it in her long term storage during the move...and I remember my grandmother embroidering Cinderella. I kept asking her if the dress could be lavender! LOL I was about 10 years old.

The quilt was made by my grandmother...all I did was hang it up. LOL But we have been busy in the garden.

So much to do and still have to finish the kitchen....but so glad the weather is nice and we can get outside. Winters are long and we all go a little crazy waiting for spring. Love the warmer weather!

Okay, still no kitchen pictures. A bit more remodeling to do, now that we've decided to take out another counter...or at least part of it.

But, I do have some kitchen garden photos : )
