Wreaths on glass doors
Comments (6)You may also be able to use a ribbon to hang it and tack to door top. See how a piece of ribbon will work on top of the door and close it first. I like the wrapped hanger idea. You could use a clear one and wrap in clear plastic and it will hardly show. Just make sure the wreath does not have anything on back that will scratch the window. Maybe a felt backing would be good also....See Morehow to hang a wreath using ribbon?
Comments (10)Over the door wreath hangers don't work on my doors either. One way I've seen it done with ribbon you you take a long length of ribbon and you loop it under the wreath and through the center hole, bring the ends to meet. Make sure the good side of the ribbon faces out. Then you use tacks to attach the ribbon to the top of the door after cutting it to the length you want (use at least 2 tacks). If you don't want the "inside" of the ribbon to show, double the ribbon so the two bad sides face each other, so both sides are now "good". You could use some spray adhesive to hold then together, but I don't think it's necessary. This year I got a suction cup at Lowes and used that. It's holding so far....See MoreHow do you hang a wreath when you have a storm door?
Comments (23)Actually, what is the top of the door like? I hang things from the top of my mahogany-veneer closet doors by attaching the wire or cord to the top edge of the door. It's wood, so I can just use a staple-gun staple, or a little nail that I pound nearly flush. There's just enough of a gap that the door will close. Also, if you can get the Command hook to stick on the inside of the door (up near the top), you could probably use poster putty or Quake Wax to keep the wreath from swinging around. It might not be enough to hold it up, but it would probably hold it steady. Also: 3M now makes bathroom-capable adhesive strips for the Command line--one of those might stick to glass....See MoreRemove glass from double pane sliding doors?
Comments (2)I did that with wood sliders. One pane shattered and I used the other 3 for a shed/greenhouse. On the wood slider look in the corners for pins (headless nails). Scrape the wood to uncover them then drive them out with a blunt nail or punch. Go slow and pull the frame apart....See Morelepages
