Purple Pole bean that isn't tough?

This year I grew Blauhilde, Blue Coco, and Purple Podded Pole beans. I enjoyed the flavor of all of them, Blue Coco probably the best of the three. All three varieties though were relatively tough and somewhat stringy, no matter when picked. I'm wondering if that is typical of these beans. We did have a relatively cool year with several fluctuations of over 20 degrees in a 2 day period, so it might be down to the weather. If it's typical of these, is there a purple pole bean that is more tender or better? I really like how much easier it is to find the purple beans when harvesting. Thanks!
