Conceptualizing almost from scratch

Engineering student son visiting for the weekend pointed out that everything in the kitchen can be put almost anywhere. I don't want to move the sink because it's in front of the window, which I like. Everything else can be anywhere.

Wall with the sink is 9'11". Other length is 13'4"". However, that is how the kitchen is configured now. There is a large, under utilized adjacent part of the room, separated by a peninsula, originally intended for an eat-in area that is not used for that purpose. We only eat in the dining room. Conceptualizing the room as a whole, it is 13'4" by 19'8". There are two 3'x6' windows I don't want to affect because eventually I will put a deck and the door will go there, so that and the entryways and the sink don't move but everything else can.

Now what? Starting from scratch.
