What are these eggs?

We found these little pebble looking things in one of our flower pots today. They're really small, say 1/8 inch,
in a cluster, fairly irregular shaped, and one of them squirted liquid
when I smished it. I think they might be eggs of some kind but really
have no idea. We're in Brisbane. Does anyone know what these
are? Thanks.

Hi Angela, these could well be little skink eggs, the ones that numerous all over Oz.

I also have seen that on a plant in my garden. They are like galls, some plant tissue that has reacted to some damage or disease. They are hard and can't be scraped off. I removed the stem and then the rest of the plant did fine. If it were a whole plant, I'd put it in the trashcan.

They are not eggs but full grown adult specimens of calico scale. This is an issue you will want to address sooner rather than later!

I can't see those in the first picture well... but yes, they are frog or toad eggs. If they are in clusters, I think they are frog eggs. If they look like pearl strands, I think they'd be toads. Have you seen or heard frogs in your pond?
