Design for wood stove in great room

We're planning to put a wood stove in our new house. It will take the place of the more traditional fireplace in our great room, thus avoiding expensive masonry work, and will also serve as a backup heat source (we can cut firewood on our own property). I'm not especially fond of the wood stove look. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to make it shine as a focal point .... or alternatively, minimize it so that it doesn't come across as a major feature in the room?

This is the wood stove we've (tentatively) selected: http://www.blazeking.com/EN/wood-chinook30.html

I've crawled Houzz for inspriation and these are my favorite ideas so far:

(DH is worried about whether we can elbow the stove pipe out of the room as shown in this photo -- might lead to a poor draft.)
