WeâÂÂve built Poplar Grove plan (Southern Living, LooneyRicksKiss architect) and the house, agggh, it was gorgeous. We moved, will be moving again, and are old enough (or finally wise enough) to have figured out how we âÂÂliveâ in a place, what we cherish, what we âÂÂneedâ and also that which simply becomes waste and upkeep. Thank you! I had 9 different swatches up on the wall at various points, all with names like "frosty fog" and "first snow," trying to decide on just the right color. I ended up with Glidden Idyllic Blue (available at HD), which is a grayish blue with a very slight hint of purple, just like my granite. The other 8 shades were either too baby-blue, too purple, or too gray. Trim is Dunn Edwards Whisper, which for non-Californians is a standard one-shade-creamier than stark white. Cabinets are maple: "Cashmere" is its official name, but it's pretty close to a natural maple, with a caramel glaze. HTH.

aurora - I think with all your windows, the Manchester Tan would work in your room. I agree with above poster to paint a big area of the wall in your room. peony - sorry it didn't work for you, but thank you for sharing your experience. Good to know it might not work in a room with less natural light. I too noticed the green undertone when I had samples on the wall. In fact, at first I thought it would be too close to the green on my kitchen walls (BM Baby Turtle). Kitchen and family room are very open to each other. But, once the room was painted, I couldn't see any green undertones, even though it's right next to green.

Celeste - I didn't remove the first bloom either - lol. It was one of the Westbourne Good Old Days, but darn! - didn't make note at the time which one it was. It had 3 blooms in all. And this season, when everything started blooming, most of the first blooms weren't all that nice. It seemed like the plant would have a "dress rehearsal" before deciding how it was going to look, and then one morning...BOOM! Heather - all the Westbourne tets were good size - 6+ inches. Height varied but averaged at least 30". That one with the wonderful eye was the tallest of them - sorry, don't have specs at moment, but over 30 inches. I thought you'd like that odd purple Wandering Werribee - lol. Alex
