So I needed help with tile. Why would grout be any different?
I am back. And no it's not done but I am closer than I have ever been, haha! WZ Pipe smoke is due in tomorrow and I can't wait! Install - well that will be by Thanksgiving. This DIY business is slow going for this family. We have come along way but on outside projects but I digress.
Before I install I need to figure out if I am brave enough to tackle herringbone or just do the standard brick offset. That will take some playing with the tile and just staring at it honestly probably for hours.
Anyhow now I am looking at grout and of course it's too big and scary for me to just pick one on my own already, lol. Originally I looked at TEC and thought the standard white looked good. Figured I was all set. Well today a Mapei rep came in to work and was demo-ing Flexcolor CQ which got me looking at their color chart and alabaster is pretty dead on. Then I found an older post by Romy of the pic I love and that says Laticrete Kashmir White.
My sample tiles with both tec standard white and mapei alabaster - I don't have a Kashmir White but I will post that pic that romy shared.
It was already past natural daylight time when I took these - sorry for the glare I did my best. Together:

Comments (26)divamum, it was crazy fast, once it finally got rolling! I sat with a big empty box of a room for about three weeks waiting for the cabinet guy. But once he started installing, that meant Joshua could come put in my soapstone, and everything else just fell into place very quickly. I went from NOTHING to almost everything in literally 48 hours. I think that, by the end of this week, I'll be done with everything in the kitchen, except of course the backsplash! :) malhgold, the range is an Aga Legacy--and the gas is finally turned on!! Woohooo!! Wouldn't you know it, though, I have to teach tonight and then I'm going out of town for two days, so I won't be able to actually cook on it until Friday. I will have to spend some time perusing! plllog, one of my first choices was a pale green glass tile with a little cobalt glass thrown in for accent pieces. I may have to revisit that. Comments (39)You can try to wax them. Every shell mosaic manufaturer after they polished the mosaic chips and stick in a sheet,they have one step is waxing. After waxing,the chips will become very shiny. After construction,there will be having some dirty thing on the surface.That's the reason that is dull. Hoping this is useful for you. And the right way for installing that kind of shell mosaic is following: Construction way of our mother of pearl mosaic and tiles. We can lay glue or adhesive (We suggest to use tiny granule glue or white grout) on the wall and then put the mosaic on the wall by hand until the gap is filled with glue or grout (the hand pressure should be well-proportioned). After 30 minutes (for tiny granule glue 20 minutes is okay), you can clean the surface of the mosaic by dry soft cloth. 3.Shell Panel Application & Installation Commonly use to the backing such as MDF, Marble, Ceramic, Calcium Silicate Board, Plasterboard, Acryl and Metal. Comments (8)Most likely the dark spots are caused by mold - a common problem in shower areas not properly sealed (next time use a urethane grout which is largely impervious to mold). Clean with a good grout cleaner and toothbrush, then reseal with a grout sealer. Your local tile store will help you select the right products. 8 years agoI picked it up today! Boy it's really well packed, phew. :) But - this is as far as I have gotten and we are gone in the evening for the rest of the week, homecoming, birthday party on Saturday yada yada yada. Ugh! I need to look up your post on sample boards and get some double stick tape! The 2 below that I pulled out have some variance to them so I think since they are not exact herringbone would not be a good diy idea for me. But I will still lay them out so I can ohhh and ahhhh.
