Yup, I think you need to go to the kitchen forum for this one. My thought would be a quartz that is nearly a solid color, maybe a cream to beige or a light gray.

I most definitely can, and will! I think cream colored would be really nice though. It might be hard to tell from the picture, but there is cream swirled through out the tile as well.

Definitely a solid Quartz or qranite. Keep it light for a good contrast, and sufficient light.

A light quartz, like Blizzard, will work or consider a dark granite. I have seen "granite with blue eyes" used as a countertop with slate tile floors (which have a lot of color variation). Here's a pic from Houzz. This granite has a uniform look, but close up has twinkles of blue in it.

We agree with much of what was said so far, and would definitely suggest a counter made from Polished Carrera Quartz. It looks very much like marble, but is low-maintenance and stain-resistant.

As another project idea (and something that would widen your countertop possibilities), painting your cabinets a lighter color could be helpful. I know you said you just refinished them (and they look very nice!), but painting them a lighter and brighter color may still be worth considering at some point.
