I don't think I'd go with the BM Shadow Gray. Next to the Pool duvet, it clashes. Too much gray blue in the Shadow Gray to compliment the Pool Duvet.

One question: what is the light like in her BR? Which way do the windows face?

Thank you so much, Tibbrix! I read your posts on my way into the SW on my phone...and I think Monorail Silver is going to be perfect. I got a quart to test it just in case (painter coming at noon) but it looks like a winner. Her room faces west, so brighter in the afternoon. I will have to post after they finish painting!

SW Silver Magnetic Gray. I have a SW fan deck and it's a pretty match to similar colors above and it's pretty in the pics of rooms.

That said, don't limit yourself. If you have a Benjamin Moore store close by and see a gray there you like, most paint stores will have the formula and be able to mix it.

Regarding SW paint, we used it in couple of rooms of our and streaked really bad. Maybe they changed their formula but it's not what it used to be and could be why it's on sale more often. Of course BM is the best, but pricey but for a child's bedroom I'd go with Behr before I choose SW again. Home Depot has mixed SW colors for me and done a perfect job.

Great! Agree, I like that Monorail Silver! Looks great with her duvet cover. Also like the Gauntlet Gray. Interesting color. Would be warm and cozy in the afternoon light and at night, and luxurious to wake up in.

Here's a tip:

When you test the samples, paint the swatches on each wall, and paint them right up to trim, coming from behind a piece of furniture, etc., not just a swatch on the wall. You need to see how it will look in contrast to the trim and furniture, and plain swatches on an open wall are impossible to judge. The current wall color makes it impossible to get a good look at the new color.

Then, one you have your swatches done, put your thumbs together and fingers up to form a frame (like movie directors do) and frame the new color with the trim or piece of furniture, close one eye, and look through your frame, as if you're looking at a snapshot of a room. That will give you a REALLY good idea about the color and how it will look. And do that throughout the day as the light changes.

Oh, glad I saw this before I did my tests! What a great method, Tibbrix...I will be sure to do that. I will feel like quite the pro!

Lukkiirish, that is so funny! I saw the Magnetic Gray when I was there, and took the chip so I could come back & get a quart if the Monorail Silver is a no-go. Great minds think alike! I am not a DIY painter so have no experience with different types of paint, but my painter is an uber perfectionist, much pickier than I am. If he wants SW, I have to hope there is a reason. He is a better painter than the painters who painted our house when we custom built 4 years ago; when he was here re-painting my kitchen ceiling after my son's horrific bath overflow incident (grr!) he was careful to note every flaw those painters had and state how he was much better, lol! :)

Thank you! We ended up going with the monorail silver...there are some navy accents that PB pairs with the Pool...I decided the MS looked better with those. I just peeked in there, and it is looking great! :)
