A visitor in my dendrobiums

This summer I have tried to use chemical pesticides sparingly. I used Brayer 3 in 1 twice. Once when I take my orchids out for their summer vacation and once when I bring them back. I treat pest issues individually as they arise with insecticidal soap or neem oil. I have been pretty successful. The spider mites are the most difficult, but they respond better the insecticidal soap than chemical pest control for me.

Anyway, part of my reason for pulling back on checimal insecticides is to decrease the likelihood of poisoning benifical creatures. Now the winter is coming, I am inspecting my plants before I dose them and bring them inside. Well look what I found hanging out in my dendrobiums, which are staying out a little longer.

I think it is a green tree frog. It is certainly the first frog I have seen in my 8 years in Ohio. I am glad I looked before I moved things too much.
