Help ID'ing Plant

Josh

My aunt gave me cuttings from this plant/bush/shrub (I think) that had a really nice rich red to dark red color in the leaves. This was in spring. I had trouble with over-watering when I planted the cuttings. One of the cuttings rotted, so I cut the rot off, let it callus, then replanted again. Both cuttings now have leaves and I just moved the plants from the pot to the ground. They're in direct sun light. This part of the house gets hit with noon-afternoon sun.

Would anyone know what type of plant this is? It looked like a tropical type plant when I saw it growing at my aunts house.
