Put a new Iris Row in front of a daylily section.
Comments (11)I really had every good intention of really going heavily for the spring flowering bulbs this fall. But I am so glad I did not order in the spring because now its fall and I simply do not have the time or the energy to get into a big bulb planting project. But then, in the spring I had no idea I was going to do all this rose and daylily moving. Well, less to do next year is the way I look at it. But I didn't get anymore done today on the iris row project as I jumped back to the moving daylilies into the plateau project. Things go along slowely in any one area because I am working in so many different areas all at once. If a had another month this late summer I might actually get it done but I am going to run out of time before all the things in my mind get done. I don't mind mentioning my age, I am 62. Never going to be a grandmother as I have no children....See MoreWhich one of these colors for new sectional?
Comments (23)Forgot to add...I envy your sectional choice. That's exactly what I want in our fam. rm., but that would mean selling our caramel colored really cute leather loveseat, AND my DH's navy Lane recliner with mission style arms & he loves that chair. It's a hard room (small tv rm adjoining our kitchen), and I should have fought for the sectional when we bought the house 6 years ago!!! Oh, well, maybe the new round rug will make me smile with that room. Will you post photos when you get your new furniture & rug, which I also love, btw, as well as your dark floors....See MoreWHAT FABRIC & COLOR SECTIONAL SOFA FOR THIS RENTAL HOME FAMILY ROOM?
Comments (13)Thanks for the great tips. Yes, it's a good point that 16 won't be sitting at the same time...more like 12 or so. Sadly, I have to go fairly dark due to the cleaning and staining issues. I should have added that I plan to add a large 12 x 15 area rug to break up the dark sofas from the darkish wood. I can't go with medium gray because it will look too "matchy-matchy" with the med. gray stone fireplace. Quick question/concern...I searched for sofas that are made from "Sunbrella" people here suggested and there are only a few and they are outdoor sofas. Mostly, the Sunbrella fabric is pillows. Also, I'll be removing both sofa tables behind the sofas that are there now, so that will give me another~ 4+ feet. But I still plan on putting more narrow sofa tables as I don't want the sofas right up against the walls, so it will be more like an extra 2 feet I'll be gaining. Any other suggestions for a "tough" fabric that won't be torn easily? We've had issues with guests sitting on the sofas, etc., with keys, etc, in their back pockets that tear the fabric or snag it. What are opinions on leather? Vinyl? Also, I'd like to lighten up the room with a cleaner, more modern white (ish) paint, maybe with a touch of gray, )but not with any blue or "pink" in it.) The walls are now painted Sherwin-Williams "Accessible Beige" and the Doors (not seen in the pictures are "Dovetail"...which I LOVE, but is way too dark for the walls. I've already gone down the line of the "Dovetail" paint strip and the lighter colors look kinda "pink-ish" in that room.) Thanks again everyone...See MoreHelp! Sectional sofa in front of windows dilemma
Comments (29)What does the 4th wall in your room look like? Is it possible to rearrange things? Give it a quarter turn so that it is no longer in front of the windows. In other words, one section on the back wall and the other section would be where the TV / console currently set. The TV could then be on that (unseen) 4th wall. I also think the TV is mounted too high....See Moreawm03
