I'm still eating spaghetti squash picked last September. Most of them are about 2.5-3.0 lbs. Three hill got me about 12-14 squashes. I just cooked one, and got 1.5 lbs of squash out of it. I'm not generally a fan of winter squash, but I do eat the spaghetti variety. I have to say that I think the idea that spaghetti squash can replace pasta doesn't make much sense to me. I tried it with tomato sauce, and it just didn't work. I just eat it as a side dish - no sauces, but maybe herbs/seasonings. In spite of the fact that it kind of looks like spaghetti, it's still a winter squash, and tastes like it.

I wondeerded if you knew him gb... I mentioned that we had a friend in the area but didn't give you name. We didn't see the thyme path or the horses (no peacocks or roosters either :-) but we did meet Sasha (a rescued Golden Retriever). I would have liked to have met the horses but I didn't want to ask; since he was kind enough to take the time to welcome unexpected visitors, I didn't want to interrupt his day too much! We spent some time discussing Christmas ornaments with him - some of his antique ornaments were similar to what my grandparents had on their Christmas trees. I would have loved to see more of the property - definitely a place to take Idyll visitors! We will include Mapleton Organics in a future visit! Now that we have the address from the link you provided, we can program it into the GPS thingy... The GPS was a handy 'toy' to have. It did lead us astray a couple of times - but only because we had input the wrong town in the address (e.g. when we were trying to find that house, we thought it was in Fergus so the GPS kept trying to send us south instead of north! Once we changed the town to Center Wellington, it took us to the right place. It was a fun trip!

I just saw one of these with the copper front at Abt Appliances, an enormous retailer just outside of Chicago. I really wanted to like this range, but I regretfully have to agree with the comments above by Chris Holmes/Cqb556. The range did not feel solid, and up close, did not have the luxurious appearance I had expected for that price. Abt also had an RCS on the floor, in the more standard stainless steel/cast iron, and it was interesting to compare the two ranges. The RCS was the winner, looked great. Meanwhile, the "Inspired by Marcus" range's french doors are rickety. Also, the racks did not pull out smoothly. The thing is, there was a Bluestar rep there (very knowledgable guy), but he spent a few minutes trying to close the french doors, and spluttered about the racks that wouldn't pull out properly (can you say, "awkwaaard"). Opening the doors was not easy either. The copper finish from afar was pretty, but close up, looked thin, like it was barely painted on, and didn't have the rich color I associate with copper. A big disappointment. The funny part was that when the rep moved over to the basic RCS, his face lit up - you could tell he really loved that machine. My advice is that if you want a Bluestar, buy an RCS or RNB, perhaps get one of the hundreds of paint colors available if you don't want the stainless front. Save your thousands that you'd spend on the Inspired by Marcus range. Just MHO.

wow, Thanks, everyone for your replies and such a positive response! I decided to go with Basketry and have the date set to Apr 2 (the day before my preferred date ;^) Now I've been asked to do the write-ups to be submitted to the newspaper, facebook, etc. I have done hands-on weaving demos there in the past... the last time was for NYS museum week. For this presentation I would like to concentrate on a little bit about the history of baskets, interesting/unusual facts, and materials used. Entertaining stuff. lol! I am also very interested in having people bring in baskets that are a mystery to them. I've had a few do that in my basket classes and it's fun. PS: chisue, I never suggested I would *value* a basket! PSS: alisande, they usually do several public announcements and do not require signups or RSVPs for the event.
