I just took a ton of seeds from my hardy hibiscus' that i have in my front yard. Some lf them ripened a couple months ago i feel. How long are they good for?

Can i store them until next spring? How do i do that?

Also, these are supposed to be cut down in the winter time and grow back in the spring. what happens if i dont cut it back? Will the stems just remain there dead looking while new growth comes from the roots?
