If you do not want to screw into the vanity, and the side of your vanity is smooth, flat and glossy, you might consider a suction tp holder. In one bath, we have a suction tp holder on the glass shower enclosure since the other side has a pedestal sink.

Here is my TP holder. It took a long time for them to send it though so I cant recommend them. But I like it. Its the one on the right. I had put the one on the left on the cabinet early, but it was a mistake, because it is too hard to reach around to get TP. The one on the counter hasn't fallen off yet :) It is heavy.

Mounted on the wall, between the toilet and the vanity will work for a tp holder, without a whole lotta twistin'. LOL Just make sure the height of the holder works well for you to reach back and grab the tp, and you should be fine. DH and I did that for ours, in our small bathrooms. I sat on the toilet seat (fully clothed!), and reached behind me while sitting, and DH measured and marked a good height for my reach.

We used open-ended tp holders in our bathrooms. If you use similar ones, just make sure to allow enough room between the vanity and the holder to allow you to pop a new roll of tp onto the holder.

Another vote for screwing it to the vanity. Situate it where it is most functional. I sort of understand the resistance to drilling in to a new cabinet, but it's not like you are going to be moving it around and drilling more holes later if it's done right. Does your husband also put clear plastic covers on the living room furniture so it doesn't get dirty?

Another Garden Webber used this company's wooden TP holder recessed into their bathroom cabinet. You can even get one that holds the spare roll, or one with a door for hiding other items one might need at the toilet. Stain grade or paint grade. Many different styles from plain,

I've had them on the wall behind the toilet and on the vanity like you have now. It is easier to use when mounted on the vanity. You could put it on the wall and try it out. Easy to repair. Move it now before you redo and paint everything.

The built in toilet paper holders could work too. Interesting idea depending how it would fit your cabinet. The top one is neat. I like that it holds an extra roll and the whole thing is recessed.

If you decide to attach your toilet paper holder to the vanity, maybe you can get one that coordinates with your fixtures. You might like it better.

Yeah, it really needs to on the side of the vanity. We just did the same thing to a brand new vanity but it's just not feasible to place it anywhere else. It'll only hurt while the screws are going in and it will be over in a flash ;)

You could hang it from the ceiling but changing rolls would be a challenge. Add one more vote for the side of the vanity.

As most of you said, it really makes sense and will be the most comfortable. I really can't see myself twisting my body at 180 degrees to reach the back wall. Thanks again!

When Cat-mom suggested the wall mount behind the toilet I believe she intended to swing the arm back, without turning her upper body, to grab the tp end. That is why her DH marked the wall, where her arm rotated back without strain, or twisting.

But I think the vanity mount is appropriate :)

Hi enduring - oh, thank you for pointing that out. I meant no disrespect. I should have also pointed out that I have a shoulder injury, so I don't have much mobility.

I think the toilet roll holder is the easiest inquiry I've made!! I'm under severe stress with our renovations - major setbacks ... I'm sure everyone whose been there knows!!

I think most people would think that you'd have to twist to reach the paper, when first thinking about a TP holder mounted behind you.

I really like that basket toilet paper holder and look at all the extra rolls it holds! Takes a bit of floor space, but so cute.

LOVE the basket!! Would you want to give us a link to where you found ittibbrix ? I went with a free standing holder, we have open shelving to the right of where one's feet rest when using the thrown. It tucks under the lowest shelf quite nicely.

I love both the baskets Tibb posted, but the one with the uncovered TP storage that sits on the floor next to the toilet would worry me about urine splashing into the extra rolls...if you have men using that toilet, if you know what I mean....

Smedbo makes beautiful toilet paper stands that are very heavy and unlikely to tip. They'll set you back @ $150.

They sell a holder that attaches to the toilet. what manufacturer and color is your toilet?

I hope they resolved how to hang their TP 6 years ago... ;-)
