Should I replace my galvanized pipes?

My wife and I recently purchased a home that still has most of its original galvanized steel pipes. I've read that these typically last no longer than 50 to 60 years before being corroded beyond use. Our home was built over 70 years ago, but the pipes still seem to be in pretty good shape. The pressure in the hot water lines in the bathroom tub and sink are slightly lower than optimal, but other than that, no issues whatsoever. Three questions: 1) Should I go ahead and take the old pipes out anyways? My house isn't very large and much of the piping is easily accessible in the basement. I figure it wouldn't cost that much to complete the job and I need to plumb in a dishwasher in the kitchen anyways. I also thought that it might help with resale value... 2) Is this a job for a relatively capable DIYer? 3) Is there any reason to replace the waste lines? Appreciate any input--
