Aggie, Very nice pictures! I'm also glad to hear that things are going well for you. I had planned on trying for Gulf Frits this year, but the Maypop seeds that I bought off of ebay didn't come up. I got so busy with the other plants that I have that I decided to forget that for this year. There's always next year. I want to wait a few years and try to get them on my own because I like surprises. :) I do want to see them here sometime during my lifetime so at some point I might order a couple kinds of butterfly eggs. I had a female BST lay an egg here one day, but something got it before I could get to it. I didn't see her lay any others. That was probably a week ago and I haven't seen her since. So you and I are about in the same boat with the BST's. I don't blame you for ordering the False Nettles and not wanting the Stinging Nettles. I don't want any of those here either. I have plants that resemble pictures of False Nettle that I've seen on the internet. I think I will take a picture of them sometime and post it here for a positive ID if someone here would be able to tell me if that's actually what they are. It's a plant that I have always considered a week and would pull them out whenever I saw them here. ARG! Cathy

If you only ordered your plants a month ago and one is possibly dead, I would pick up the phone and call Jim's Hostas to see if they would give you a replacement. It can hardly benefit their business to be panned in a popular hosta forum. I asked them to please send me nice specimens because it was my friend's introduction to hostas altogether. I got several hostas from them a couple years ago. Not the most giant of specimens, but they were OK. They sent me a bonus hosta called "Yellow Eyes", which I never really liked, and when it died, I didn't cry.

I've had Forest Shadows since 2003 and it is a wonderful small hosta. It was a thank you gift from a house guest. Some of my most favorites were the "bonus" plants I've received. -Babka

Hippieindenial, that is so rude. No it was no hint. What does it matter? Paul, I'm just not saying anything on this until it's here. I find it interesting that I'm being pushed into buying hostas that spark no interest in me.... As "Must haves"... Well, everyone has their own opinion is my thoughts on this. And what be "must haves" to some may be generic and silly to others. It'll be in MY garden, for MY enjoyment... So I might as well get the ones I really want and not just what everybody thinks. I appreciate the thoughts and input but it's like some of you take it way too far and too personally that I don't get the ones you think I should get. This isn't just for you.... Others are extremely pushy on here. I think I only thought about ordering June because so many pushed it. It's not one that I am particularly thrilled about. I've seen a 1000 pictures. It's pretty yes, but not something I am dying to have. I'm sorry that upsets some. I am just being honest. I'm glad you and others LOVE it. That's great. But it's my money and I'm the one paying for it and putting it in my garden. I happen to think Irish Luck will add something unique to my hosta garden, you can agree or not, those out there... But it is my choice ultimately. I'll post pictures when the order comes in.
