Caterpillar Invasion in my new Garden!!!!

I noticed something was eating my Bougainvillea leaves. So someone here
advised that I check out at night what's on the leaves. I see what
looks like dozens and dozens of tiny baby little
inchworms/caterpillars crawling around the bottom of the leaves at
night. Am I wrong to assume cabbage looper caterpillars?

While investigating my new garden in the dark with my flashlight, in the
corner of my eye I saw a whole bunch of larger, similar patterned
caterpillars crawling around the base of my Palo Verde tree (photo
attached). There were also several others crawling up the trunk
of the tree (pic attached).
