there is a very hardcore tomato forum ... if it were in my yard.. i would note they are the oldest leaves.. the ones on the bottom ....and clip them off.. and walk away ... i would suspect.. while walking away .. that it has something to do with soil splashing on the plants... has it been very rainy lately??? i know the first maters of the year are coming.. and you want them.. and you worry .. but trust me.. in a month.. you will be beating this thing back with a stick cursing the day you planted more than one plant... leaving bags full in parked cars and running away giggling.. lol ... i just dont think with tomatoes one need 'worry' too much ... and if i wanted sprayed ones ... i would buy them at the store .... as i said.. i am sure those in the tomato forum.. would consider that blasphemy.. lol .. as will some here ... ken

Thanks for the reply!! I personally haven't sprayed any herbicide since they were planted but plants are close to neighbors yard so I'll check with neighbor. thanks

Everything gets fungus in Texas. What a pain in the tookus. Early Blight Early Blight can affect the foliage, stems and fruit of tomatoes. Symptoms: Dark spots with concentric rings develop on older leaves first. The surrounding leaf area may turn yellow. Affected leaves may die prematurely, exposing the fruits to sun scald. Gray Leaf Spot Gray Leaf Spot affects only the leaves of tomatoes, starting with the oldest leaves. Symptoms: Small, dark spots that can be seen on both the top and bottom surfaces of the leaves. The spots enlarge and turn a grayish brown. Eventually the centers of the spots crack and fall out. Surrounding leaf areas will turn yellow and the leaves will dry and drop. Fruit production is inhibited Late Blight Late blight affects both the leaves and fruit of tomatoes. Late Blight is the disease responsible for the Irish Potato Famine. Late Blight spreads rapidly. Cool, wet weather encourages the development of the fungus. If you suspect you have Late Blight, contact your Local Extension Service for definite ID. Symptoms: Greasy looking, irregularly shaped gray spots appear on leaves. A ring of white mold can develop around the spots, especially in wet weather. The spots eventually turn dry and papery. Blackened areas may appear on the stems. The fruit also develop large, irregularly shaped, greasy gray spots. Early blight sounds like the right timing.

Believe it or not , you could be experiencing too much water. With the timeing of the rains here I have yet to water the garden, other than the extra they get with feedings of FE and SWE every couple of weeks. (a soil drench of tea coming up, it's bubbling away out back as I type.) With all of the rain that most of the Country got this spring I would bet we are all experiencing a few yellow leaves. Research the different tomatoe wilt diseases and you will most likely find your symptom.
