Alternatives to disposal?

I have 8 or so large (up to 5-6 feet), multistemmed, branching plumeria in tubs. Most are seed-grown plants that are now 7-8 years old. Every year I bring them up out of the basement when the weather has warmed, stick them in full sun, water and fertilize (most often with a "bloom"-type high middle number fertilizer) and watch them put out new healthy foliage, thrive and then either not bloom or maybe (in rare cases) send up one flower spike toward the end of the season. This summer, instead of constant moistness I tried letting them dry out well between waterings. No difference.

I have a couple of dwarfs ("Singapore White") that are somewhat reliable about flowering.

The only thing I can think of trying is letting the tubbed giants go completely dry for a few months indoors (with maybe a little water at times to keep stems from shriveling). But it's getting to be a pain hauling these things up and down the basement stairs for no real benefit.

Any other suggestions before they go the way of the compost heap?
