Orange-flavor drink concentrate from 50's?

carol_the_dabbler

At our family reunions in the 50's and 60's, Grandma always supplied us kids with an "orange" drink that she made up from a bottle of liquid concentrate. It tasted like it was made from orange peels, and maybe it was!

I'm curious whether anyone else remembers that stuff, and what it was called.

You're not thinking of "Tang" are ya'? It was invented in the late 1950's and soon became all the rage with us kids, 'cause it went into space with the NASA astronauts - but Tang was powdered. There was also "Tru-Ade" which came as both a carbonated beverage as well as a bottled concentrate.

Thanks, good guesses, but this stuff was somewhat pre-Tang, it was a liquid concentrate rather than a powder, and the flavor was less sweet and more sharp (like orange peel). I'm reasonably certain it wasn't called Tru-Ade either.
