This doesn't look like pokeweed (poke salad) to me. Normally poke salad stalks don't turn red until they get much bigger. When they are this small they are still pickable and edible.

I have the same problem Bloomingamaryllis... Something started growing in my lasagne bed that I didn't recognize as either weed or plant, so I thought I'd let it go. It's growing very fast though, so I'm of the opinion that it's too good to be true, so out it goes. On the other hand... I've been waiting for my lone surviving (of 3) Salvia Greggi to bloom. But the plant that's next to that marker is blooming now with the tiniest of white daisy flowers. So I guess none of the Greggi survived. So what is this? A misshipment from the nursery? I'm pretty sure it's not German chamomile. I have what think is that growing elsewhere and it's different foliage. This is very, very fine foliage. The flowers themselves are about a 1/4" across. I'm wondering if it might be some type of aster, since it just started blooming now? Alice

Thank you! And yes, I had noticed that it comes from a central root and pulls up very easily. Luckily, I typically catch them fairly early and pull them up. I just happened to walk past this prime example at work when I realized I'd never found out what it was. I figured I'd take a picture and post here for info. Thanks again for the help.
