Does anyone know what kind of cactus this is?

Hello everyone! I would be much obliged if you could tell me the name of
my 15-year-old cactus which has just blossomed again (it does that
every or every other year).

Hm, I see that most Echinopsis oxygona cacti on Google have very short (or virtually no) thorns, but perhaps this is a different subspecies or cultivar, anyways it definitely is an Echinopsis. Thank you very much :)

Thanks, S&B. That is what happened. I did post another time with a smaller photo and it posted then. I'm sorry to take up extra time with two posts. I think it is bruchii as well after googling that name. It is a good cactus for me because it grows slowly and I have to bring it in in the winter. It won't get too heavy to carry! Too cold, dark, and wet here for it outside in winter. Thank you all for your time. Barb

Thanks baldric. Now I know what kind of cactus I have. I should have picked up a few more of the other varieties they had for $2.00. The vendor said he had too many and wanted to get rid of them. I have to overwinter them indoors and my space is limited otherwise I would've picked up the whole lot.

Nope, it was labeled correctly. :) It is but a baby and will look like most of the images of a 'Golden Barrel' cactus down the road (eventually). Planto

The flowers will clinch the ID - C. strausii flowers are quite distinct from the others. C strausii flowers are straight and very hairy on the exterior, and the petals do not flare open on the ends like the others; flowers are also more of a burgundy red too. It might be a few years though before it blooms.
