I've been busy with work, but will be digging next week; I do have some good sized crepe myrtles, including, I think, the dark leaved variety whose name I can't remember right now.

& I have a cute garden church & a self-watering pot for African violets.

Does anyone have crabapple or loquat seedlings?

I can bring oak seedlings, may be red oak and/or bur oak;

I'm not "oak savvy" & can't tell the difference!

Those are handy for cloches/plant covers when cold weather hits, & you can start seeds/plants in them early in the year, before you'd ordinarily plant things outside.

I journeyed down south for the San Antonio swap yesterday, & boy, did I have fun!

The San Antonio people really *are* a fun bunch, & they swap like they're possessed by the goddess of garden bounty...which maybe they are.

so at the end of the swap, when they were talking about composting the leftovers, I shrieked, & they stuffed them all in my car.

& I do mean *all*, I do mean that car was *stuffed*.

It let out its belt a notch & burped when I unloaded the boxes last night.

so I'll have some rose cuttings to share (not all of 'em, but there are plenty for us all!), spineless cactus pads, some succulents & succulent cuttings, night-blooming cereus that can take cuttings from,&...I can't remember it all.

I'm hoping Casper or someone with a greenhouse comes to the swap, because I have a white orchid tree, a Cape Honeysuckle (blooming gorgeously now but I know it'll never make it through the winter outside), & some voodoo lily bulbs that need homes.

note to all:

leapingfroglady is a teacher & cleverly uses craft things in her classes-

she once used plastic canvas to create the stars in the night sky!.

so if anyone wants to re-home some stuff that's too beautiful to toss but that you know you'll never use (like my scrapbook stuff), designate a box & fill it as you go through the winter, & maybe one or more of us can take it to her in the spring.

Sylvia, did read correctly in your OP something about Tall Cannas with dark leaves & tomato red flowers. Would love some of those, but I'm not sure I have anything you want, though I seem to remember reading something about Folgers Black Silk Coffee. I'm sure I could find some of that...

I have assorted things set aside for you and can also bring you two porterweed plants that I dug last weekend.

don't know the color of the night-blooming cereus, but I'm guessing it's white. There was a long discussion on the San Antonio swap thread about whether a pink-blooming plant was seriously a cereous, & they decided it was something else.

I'll bring cuttings.

if you have time & you feel like you have to trade something, Folger's black silk is fine, even a small container, but it isn't necessary.

just have to put gas in the car, water everything, dig cape honeysuckle & cannas, box up plants, pack car...& I'm sure there are other things that I'll think of later, probably about the time I get to Arlington tomorrow!

I put the Herniaria Glabra seeds and the black & blue salvia in a box for you! I've been pleasantly surprised by my little baby HGs this summer. I started them with the plan of planting them between stepping stones, I just never got around to getting the stepping stones in place, so mine have just stayed in containers all summer. I failed to water them for 3 weeks in August, but they survived and perked right back up after I gave them a little drink! The only thing they don't seem to like is full afternoon sun. Oh, and the packet has 200 seeds, not 50. Bonus!

We not only loaded up the cars of everyone who attended, we loaded up the cars of passersby (coaxed, roped in, or accosted & held until they gave in & took plants...by persons who shall remain anonymous)!

There's gotta be a physics question here somewhere:

How did we all load up our cars, swap & swap & then load up the cars of other people & *still* come home with our cars loaded to the max?

Where did all those plants come from?

I for one brought home tons of gorgeous, healthy plants, including so many water or bog plants that I'm going to have to commandeer the dog's play pool.

Maybe I should ask for a plastic pool at the next swap...
