I like #3 by far also. The vertical placement of the knobs on the cabinet doors helps looks great and I think that the difference in size is actually a good thing because it breaks ups all of the sameness and looks purposeful, not like you just turned the knob on its side. It's so exciting when the cabinets are installed because you can really see your room coming together. When you can hold the knobs and pulls against the actual cabinets, the best choice may become more obvious. I had chosen a RH pull which I planned to turn vertical on my doors. Once my cabinets were installed, I felt that would be too many of the same fairly large pull and instead found a different manufacturer's knob for the doors that I absolutely love. I'll try to get a picture posted later today. This weekend, our 10 1/2 month masterbath reno should be DONE!!

Anthomeinva- Will look at the Dakota knobs. I see you have beautiful soapstone, too. Badgergal-We hadn't heard of Hickory Hardware and will investigate; beautiful cabinets. Prospect-Looks like you have soapstone countertops, too. We love your floor. Enduring-Love your backsplash; what material did you use? Sloane-We think your photos convinced us to select satin/brushed nickel. Lovely view! Labbie-We will look at Top Knobs web site - beautiful kitchen Mayflowers-the ORB does not look dated and is a nice choice for you kitchen-especially with the lighter floor and counters. We did not choose soapstone because I was scared off by the discussions about softness. I still LOVE the way it looks, especially with natural cherry. MJ

I used a pull.... and I borrowed another GW-er's idea to use a larger size than on my other drawers. It's 7 or 8" long, so I hang by dish towel on it (right across from the sink). That way dirty/wet hands grab the towel and don't get the pull and cabinet dirty :) It works reeeeaaaaallly well, though I did have to find a knob/pull line that had lots of different sizes. I used Restoration Hardware. FWIW I have knobs on my cabinet doors, and pulls on my drawers. Since the trash is like a big drawer, this made sense to me. And- looks great!

I used that combo in my last remodeled kitchen and it worked great. I don't think you can actually see them in the one pic that is still posted on the FKB, but you can check for the Ebirdy kitchen and see if you can see them. If not, let me know and I probably have reno pics still on my computer. It went fine. We did an ORB faucet, too, and a biscuit colored sink, not stainless.
