When you're looking at paint colors, make sure you have a sample of flooring that has already darkened most of the way--the difference is very dramatic. That said, I think you can use most beiges or taupes. I think the only ones that might conflict are those with peachy or yellow undertones. Are you looking to paint your house before buying furniture? If not, you should consider coordinating with your furniture. In my house, I chose a light taupe, plus one a shade darker, that looked good with the granite surround of my fireplace. I used the darker shade as an accent in alcove and certain walls to emphasize light and shading. I had originaly painted my library navy blue, (which looked OK as I have white painted woodwork throughout), but later painted it over in an deep brown, almost espresso. I recovered some furniture, painted oak bookshelves an off white, and the results are stunning. Enjoy your floors!

Since you won't be repainting your living room color, I think Dorian Gray SW will be too cold for the cabinets. Have you considered a greige color? Something similar to this: I think it will better lend itself to the warmer tones in your home.
