Comments (26)Hi Linda! I'm so happy you downloaded the messenger and you found me! Now we don't have to bore the forum with our ongoing small talk. haha. No on the most part I have had excellent trades in my years in GW. I only had 1 lady cheat me. She said she had sent out to me and never did. She did receive what I had sent her. So all in all don't let being cheated stop you from all the good traders that are out there. They're far more good traders out there than bad. That's all I need is addicted to yet another type plant! I already am with AV's, Strep's, Hoya's and miniature orchids. That's more than enough to coo over and keep me busy! haha. Plus outside I'm nuts about Clematis. I have lots of those scattered all over my yard. They do well here in Oklahoma and are pretty to boot. See ya in chat!,,,Debbie...See MoreWould love to see your beautiful roses
Comments (224)SoFl, I wanted to add that Bolero smells similar to Sugar Moon. I could have a garden comprised of those two just for smelling. Guess I'll have to add Sharifa Asma to my list now if it smell similar. : ) When I comment on a post and go to it from my email notice, it take me directly to the last posts and if it's a short one without pics, I just read it in my email....See MoreThe Pope is here
Comments (33)Mimi- I'm sorry I sound so negative. We've been hearing about all these plans and warnings from the Mayor for months and it does make me wonder if it's scaring people from attending. At times they say they're expecting over a million people to attend the Mass. They are erecting a beautiful canopy on the Parkway and the altar will be beneath that. There will also be the usual Jumbo screens broadcasting the Mass for those who can't get close enough. I know quite a few people who are going into the City for the Mass. My niece is coming from Pittsburgh with her husband and 4 children. I have several friends from my town who are attending. Although the Ben Franklin Bridge is closed it is open for pedestrians. People are planing to get dropped off on the New Jersey side and will walk the 5 miles across the bridge and into the city and then across town to the Mass. I could have easily driven into the city and parked at my son's apartment which is just outside the Papal Zone and walked a few blocks to the Parkway for the Mass. I just don't want to deal with the hassle, the security checkpoints and the porta potties. But then I also didn't want to go to Woodstock :) I'd rather spend a week in the mountains with my family. This is the official Philly website for the Papal visit and it has information for those who are attending. According to the evening news tonight there are hotel rooms still available - and the city is very walkable. http://www.phila.gov/InformationCenters/pope/Pages/default.aspx...See MoreWeek Seven (post Pope)
Comments (118)CEFreeman! - So nice that I don't have to take anyone else's preferences into account! I'm still feeding the cats in the guest room to facilitate locking them away from contractors (who are both allergic & prone to leaving doors wide open.) I think I won't know where to feed cat food/water until the workers are out of the house for good. You were one of the ones who was there for me very early in the planning process... I think we talked about stairways full of *crap* and we definitely talked about major kitchen renovations for the *non* cook. I'm very, very pleased with my choices! Not that there aren't things I wouldn't do differently were I to do it all over again, but the big things (overall layout, back door) are perfect. I've been having fun (but taking regular breaks) figuring out where to put stuff, washing dishes, and trying to get the LR back in to shape. The living room really needs re-structuring, and most likely new furniture... when I'm ready to post it on the Home Decorating forum, I'll post a link here... Dreary day from the steps:...See Moremaire_cate
