Comments (11)Applying dark gel stain to the tops is not going to make any difference at all in their likeability. If you hate them, you hate them. You can paint them white which will change their appearance dramatically, but you still may hate them. The best long term solution is to move them to another room and buy something both of you really love. Giving them to relatives may also work for your husband. Comments (8)Remove the vanity, light fixture, towel bars/mirrors, and extraneous storage piece. Install fresh modern wallpaper that works with the green tile, so it feels intentional. Add a “large as possible” white vanity…you have the room. Move the plant on toilet to another room. Install a hotel towel rack above the toilet. Leave the window unadorned or hang a simple cafe curtain on bottom half if privacy is not an issue, otherwise install a cordless Roman shade. Clean and replace tub caulking. New fabric shower curtain/liner. New fixtures in either brushed nickel or satin brass.
