Hot and humid weather - fuchsia is dying

I love fuchsias, but they die every summer, no matter what I do. I buy new ones every year, they're doing great in the winter, but then in the summer it becomes very hot and humid and they die. I tried putting them in the shade, but that only gave them a few more weeks. Any advice?
