I would say go ahead and plan to plant in the fall (Oct/Nov). For a 170 ft long bed, I would suggest you consider a mixture of things. For one reason, that much of anything is boring and can lead to problems if one disease comes along and takes everything out. For privacy, I would consider mixing a couple or more evergreen trees: 'Savannah' holly and 'Little Gem' magnolias would be nice; perhaps two of each to provide a little continuity and use deciduous trees between the two groups. Wax myrtle is another nice evergreen tree to consider if you don't like one of those two. For deciduous trees, consider a 'Yoshino' cherry (space it appropriately, it does get wide). Other good deciduous trees to consider are Red Buckeye (rather unusual in the average landscape), Green Ash, one of the faster growing oaks like Shumard or Scarlett Oak. If you post this question on the Georgia forum and give your appromixate location, you might get some other choices and some nursery recommendations. Good luck, sounds like a good fall project and you've given yourself a couple of months to do your research.

Sometimes I wonder why we went with this split king bed LOL. It seemed like a perfect solution because my husband suffers from reflux and can pop his side up, but I swear it messes with the snuggle factor because I can always feel that split. My girlfriend has the "split head" king that looks like a tooth but only splits half way (I attached a picture below). She says she can feel the split too when she snuggles. And sheets my goodness just add another variable to the entire decision. I had to buy the split king cooling lyocell sheets from the mattress company and those cost $200. Granted, after spending a million dollars on this mattress and base it may not seem like a lot, but I still can't wrap my head around $200 for these "special sheets" when I paid half as much for my favorite super duper soft PeachSkinSheets for my old king bed. They were twice as soft and still kept my sweaty husband cool and dry (bless his precious heart). They just came out with a five piece split king sheet set that is under $100 but there are only two colors ...white and cream and I really need more of a wedgewood gray-blue :-( :-(. I've never tried the Target brand, but it sounds like they only have them at certain times during the year? << :-( I just checked online and Target doesn't have any listed right now>>. Even though they don't have my color, I think that I'm going to have to cave in and get a white set. Besides, white goes with everything (see, I can justify anything!). I am hoping they stay put but in case they don't, I have my back up Sheet Suspenders.....aha! Problem solved. This is a pretty good question with no easy answer. I sell redworms and European nightcrawlers. Are these types of worms good in your garden? The answer is NO unless you provide special habitat and feed them. Some unscrupulous worm sellers will tell you it is fine and they know those worms are going to perish. However, if you can provide suitable habitat and commit to feeding, composting worms can do very well in a garden. If your garden is well-drained, a trench can be dug and filled with bedding and a food source for your worms. You can plant on either side of the trench and take advantage of the castings. Beneficial bacteria and fungi will also be high and help your plants to grow. I recently wrote a blog post that was about attracting local species of worms to your garden.
