Need feedback on KOBE Range Hood
Comments (24)I was seeing too many reviews of Kobe owners having mechanical problems, especially at about the 5 year mark with their switches. As another reviewer noted, I also don't like that they seem to be frequently tweaking their range hood features and designs. My decision was to go with Imperial as I wanted reliability. Imperial is made in the US and warranty their better range hoods for 7 yrs. Their folks were always available to answer questions and seemed to be honest when discussing the negatives of some of their models. My installer had a question regarding the schematics and was promptly put through to their chief engineer. Imperial also had more options available. The light and fan switch are continuously variable rather than having a specific number of settings. I also selected the option of having the switches wired remotely, separate from the range hood. So far, I'm happy with my decision....See MoreReplace oil tunnels and oil seal on Kobe Range Hood
Comments (1)I have a Kobe, too, and one time I took it apart too far to clean it (I was up in the fans). I called Kobe customer service, and they emailed me diagrams showing how to reassemble it. They were great. Try this number 1-855-800-KOBE I don't think the oil tunnels come out on my model. I just run a sponge through them....See MoreTrouble installing Kobe Range Hood RA02
Comments (0)Hi guys. I got the Kobe RA02 with the optional 24 inch duct cover. My contractor and I are having trouble figuring out how to attach the 24in duct cover. The standard 12 inch cover just slips over a bracket on the hood. But with the 24" this bracket stops it from installing since the 24" one has a lip. Has anyone installed the RA02 with the 24" duct cover? How did you attach the cover to the hold? The instructions for the hood make no mention of how to do this....See MoreVictory vs. Kobe Range Hoods on Loudness
Comments (1)One of the main contributors to exhaust noise is the ductwork. That is why you can have two homes with identical hoods, and one is loud and the other isn't. If your duct that goes from the hood to the outside is too small, you will have a noisy hood, regardless if you choose Victory or Kobe. So if you want quiet, I'd look first at what diameter is the duct. It needs to be 8" or 10" diameter depending on how many cfms the hood has. If yours is not that big, and you are doing a kitchen renovation, see if you can replace the duct. If you cannot, you will have to live with a noisy hood....See MoreRachel (Zone 7A + wind)
