I tried SS appliances and did not care for them. I don't mind white except for the typical plastic handle. In my new build I went with GE artistry in white which has brushed metal handles (and a retro look). I think there is another brand or two (Samsung or whirlpool) that have white appliances with metal handles.

I think white is cheerful. Stainless is okay, but looks like a mess in my home and the SS appliances in my price range are nothing to write home about.

You can mix white and stainless appliances. I have a white range (it's such a breeze to clean) with a stainless steel hood over it. It looks great!

If you like the white better, and you think the white goes better with your other finishes, then you should get the white. It's your kitchen. If however, it is too late to change this order, don't worry about the SS. It will be fine, too. Not worth losing sleep over. And yes, we all fret about various decisions. I lost sleep thinking about things in my remodel that ended up not mattering at all. Did you ever see this TED Talk? It's good to watch when you're doing something like a new kitchen.

I am not replacing appliances. Well maybe my range (it was a $60 CL find a year ago)..they are all white. I will be putting in a SS hood though...

I love the look of SS appliances and have never understood the fuss about keeping them clean and finger-print free. Maybe I lucked out and got better finishes (even though my stainless are lower-end ones). I dunno.

I'm also the first to say "screw trends" (and I've been known to say it with more "colorful" words!)

There are some kitchens that just scream for white or black appliances. Or fun colored ones. So get whatever you like best and what works for your space.

I've found HD to be reat to work with. If your item hasn't shipped yet, I bet you can cancel without any fees. Or if there is a fee, it will probably be a small one. I'd pay the cancellation fee before I'd pay for something that I know I'm not going to like.

I prefer white appliances and bought a new range and fridge this year. Shopping for white appliances can be a bit frustrating. It seems there are a lot more options in SS and a lot more sales in SS. I'm getting ready to shop for a dishwasher and I have a feeling finding a good, white dw is going to be an even greater challenge than finding the range and fridge.

Lots of people have a range that is a focal point, often in a different color. If you have stainless, it will still look good with other white appliances :)
