Colette: a tame climber?/Eden in a pot?
Comments (9)I have both Eden and White Eden in pots planted in the ground. They are doing well, going into their second year and have bloomed better than the ones in the ground without a pot. I think it might deter the voles for a longer period of time. Not sure what the deal is,but I saw one here a few years ago growing wildly beautiful in a pot, in the ground and chose to try it. So far, so good, but less than two years. Incidentally, for those who like Eden, White Eden is a must-have to combine with it. It blooms more frequently and is a gorgeous white....See MoreHow long do Amaryllis live and what's oldest one you have in a pot?
Comments (16)It is very beautiful and it kinda reminds me of striatum? I have one that I purchased on Ebay as 'Old Timey Orange' and the seller said that it has been it in his family for a long time. I have mine in the front window and it's sending up two scapes at the moment. I only purchased one bulb and it's got a whole potful of babies next to the mother bulb. Also, it seems to bloom several times a year :-))))...See MoreHow long can you keep plants in the pots that came from the nursery?
Comments (21)I planted a "slow growing" 'conversation piece' azalea last year next to a gardenia. It grew so fast that it almost grew up and over the gardenia, so I moved it to a new spot this winter where it could grow. It was a 1 gallon specimen when planted. How big of a pot? I usually buy plants that are at least in 1 gallon pots, but you could raise the azalea in a container until it gets a little bigger. I guess it is worth a try. What have you got to lose? (besides a few dollars)...See MoreIs this a good deal? PIP Eden climber 4" pot $20?
Comments (7)I have to agree with mad and hoovb, that's a very tiny plant to try and winter over in zone 5. It's too small to plant out and even wintering it in a pot would be iffy. And don't try to bring it inside. While I have heard of people doing it I've never successfully kept a rose inside the house over an entire winter. Household climates are rarely conducive to happy healthy rose growth. I'd either wait until next spring or order something from a nursery for spring delivery. Besides, this is a newer variety and will probably be available locally next spring....See MoreSoFL Rose z10
