Finally! A beautiful bloom after all the rain :)
Comments (16)Alex, glad to see you back and posting! I am looking forward to seeing all the pictures of your babies this year. I have thought of you several times over the past couple of weeks, as I was digging into my huge bag of ProMix that I got last year from the pot store :) Just over the past few days I have started noticing scapes on some of my seedlings planted last year and some of my seedlings from the previous year that haven't bloomed before - will be an exciting summer for both of us!...See MoreRebloom maybe? Finally rain coming.
Comments (2)Hope you get that much needed rain! This past Monday and Tuesday it was 85 outside, last night the low was in the 40’s, crazy weather again. Wish I could have shared the rain, we have had 9” in the past two weeks. Sherry...See MoreFinally Rain Hard Enough to Beat Up Blooms
Comments (16)Julia - I was a bit disappointed with the color on Lavender Evensong for Al, but it is a new one and temps have been very hot. I saw it in person at Blueridge Gardens two years ago and was struck with how pretty the lavender was on it. It's a dormant and supposed to be a tall one. Here's another pic of it when its petals rolled back. Lavender Evensong for Al Lavenders that impressed me this season were Musical Medley, Grace Alone, Royal Invitation and English Lavender. Allegheny Skyline was looking more like itself today. Most of the blooms have been splotchy this season (not usual) and I haven't been able to get a good clump shot. The blemishes seem to be caused by some bug feeding on the petals. Debra...See MoreFinally some rain in June
Comments (10)Maryl-hoping you get clouds with rain in them!! My rain came just in time for the rebloom scapes. For me Voila Francos is very white-ish. That photo is exactly what I see but of course in other gardens and soil maybe it is different. Nancy, I agree with you about Mean Green. It has so many buds and gives those amazing clumps every day and yes it does multiply like crazy. Julia I look forward to seeing yourTahiti Sweetie-I think yours always looked a little different-mine is much darker or redder than I thought it would be....See Morejim1961 / Central Pennsylvania / Zone 6
