Best early flowering bulbs for cut flowers?

Hi all,

I have a couple of community garden spaces that I am renting each year and I would like to utilize the space over the winter by planting some bulbs to use as cut flowers - particularly ones that I could grow, cut and dig out of the ground as early as possible (as I will then want to utilize the space for growing fruit and vegetables in Spring the following year). I know you are meant to leave bulbs in the ground to strengthen for the following year but does anyone have any suggestions?

It seems a waste to just leave the ground empty until April / May next year once the growing season ends here but I don't want to sacrifice growing vegetables if at all possible.

I also am considering garlic but I think that will likely not be harvested until the summer?

Thanks in advance

Andrew
