Asclepias Curassavica

I planted A. Curassavica for the first time this year, as I did not bring any A. Tuberosa from GA. It is over 3' x 3' and still flowering heavily, though the caterpillars are already on it. The caterpillars are just similar to my Monarch larva on A. Tuberosa or my Swamp milkweed; but they are hairy, almost spiny. The same color and markings as close as I can tell. After my run in with the saddleback last year, I am just leary.

Has anyone had these hairy monarch larva?
