Replacing a sink in a tile counter
Comments (1)If you can get matching tile, & you are really, really careful, you might be able to do it with just replacing the tiles around the sink, but in most cases it just doesn't work well and you will need to replace all the tile, or go with another counter surface....See MoreReplacing counter & sink only -- stupid?
Comments (5)When I was remodeling and replaced the entire vanity, I was able to successfully remove a solid surface integrated countertop from a vanity (prior to removing the vanity). It was siliconed in place and required some prying, but eventually it came loose. We did damage the wall in the process (was siliconed to the wall as well) and had to patch that up. I think it is definitely doable and smart if you like your current cabinet. Really there's no way to know until you try. Measure your cabinet and find out some possible options for a replacement countertop. Then try removing the countertop and sink and see what happens. What type of flooring do you have? Depending on how the flooring was installed, you may not need to replace it if you eventually have to replace the cabinet. And if you do need to replace the flooring but there's nothing wrong with your toilet, there's no reason you can't remove the toilet (carefully) and reinstall it once you've replaced the floor. I do agree that it can be a slippery slope, so start small and see what happens....See Morereplacing an apron front sink
Comments (15)I had a stainless sink once and disliked the constant water spots. People have different design taste - a good thing or the world would be very boring. I have a cast iron Whitehaven and like it very much. However, there are different types of apron front sinks and they install differently, which is why it would be important to post the brand and if possible a pic. Joesph Corlett is a good pro to contact, though he usually sees and responds to post about sinks. https://www.houzz.com/user/joseph-corlett...See Morereplacing apron front farmhouse sink without replacing quartz top
Comments (9)I am an expert; I replace sinks for a living. I just did your job: You aren't going to crack your engineered stone countertop or affect the seam. The good news is that it appears you have frameless cabinets. Back the screws out of the blocking, throw it in the trash, drive a stiff scraper between the bottom of the top and the sink flange, then take a rubber mallet to the inside of the sink and drive it out the front. Spend $300.00 on a Pete's Sink Mount kit and install it. Set the fireclay sink on it, silicone the flange, and raise the sink with a cordless drill until it kisses the stone bottom. Windex the squeeze-out and you're done. The Pesimoki is key to a job with a heavy fireclay sink; I don't care what the sink manufacturer specifies....See Morecluelessincolorado
