Pink velutina surprise....

I was given 100+ seeds of musa velutina late last year, and from what I read or was told, germination would probably be quite low. I planted a few which germinated after several weeks, giving me 7 little plants.

Skip forward 5 months, to last week. I needed a pot for a catnip seedling, and grabbed a 10" pot of dry soil, planted and watered, and now have catnip + ~25 new m.velutina sprouts.<<slapping forhead>> This is one of the rare times that I didn't mark a pot planted with seeds. It's amazing that after several months of being bone dry, that all these seeds sprouted, AND did so almost in unison. Because I plant larger seeds in a grid pattern, it's possible to say that there's almost 100% germination. Some are actually doing better than the seedlings started 5 months ago. Go figure.

Anyone want a little seedling? lol
