Undercounter Water Chillers
Comments (3)We have the Everpure water chiller but it does take up room in the cabinet and as Al says, it needs ventilation. Ours is installed in the powder room cabinet which is on the same wall as the sink so the tubing just goes through the wall. It's also hooked up to a hot water heater which is in the sink cabinet. Our sink cab is only 24" so there wasn't room for the chiller, hot water heater, garbage disposal and the RO filter system. We modified the standard cabinet in the powder room by cutting out a 2x6" rectangle of the floor between the toe kick and the front of the cabinet. We also took out the center fake drawer front and replaced it with a decorative brass grill. Not super beautiful for a powder room used by all our guests, but it works :) The chiller gets the water down to the high 30's low 40's if you run it a bit before putting water in a glass. It's filtered which we also like. We have a hot/cold faucet so get filtered instant hot or cold water quickly. One thing you should note is the water goes through the filter into the chiller and from the CHILLER into the hot water tank so the hot water tank fills with ice cold water. This is certainly not energy efficient and bothers me somewhat but we live with it....See MoreIs and integrated refrigerator with integrated pulls possible?
Comments (15)SJhockeyfan, Your Thermador is integrated. Compare to built-ins like KitchenAid or the older style SubZero, which look like regular fridges, with doors that stick out, and breaks between doors and all, but they're built into the wall. "Integrated" is short for "flush integrated" while means that it's flush with the cabinetry. No stick out parts. I could have had my Gaggenau ovens mounted flush, but that means that they're inset so that the front is flush with the surrounding cabinets, but that also means that the door would only open to 90 degrees, like what happens on most full overlay cabinetry. I say most because if that makes you nuts, like it does me, you can buy staged hinges that allow for a much wider swing. The Thermador fridge has similar hinges, so the door isn't limited to 90ð. Some integrated fridges don't have that great feature. JPLouis, You might talk to Haefele and be sure that their similar pulls have been used successfully, long term, with refrigerators. It's pulling against the seal that takes oomph, and could wear down the joining over time, but there has to be a way to make it work, and they might know what it is....See More36in. Comments (2)Am a BS enthusiast. Am delighted to have cast iron top and find it far easier to keep it looking nice. Mine has the old fashioned pull out drip catcher tray... And I don't mind that. So much if the clean up I was doing before shine surfaces becomes unnecessary...and the grates become cured, soft sheen, just like a well cared for Lodge fry pan . have a 22yr old SubZ refrig 501 series I think, all refrig, 32 or 36". Still runs very well tho had to invest $800 3 yrs back. .... And in an upcoming remodel have to decide what to buy Frankly I am not happy with the new Subzeros. Four separate service company techs have commented on "the don't make 'em to last anymore'. At 2 and 3x the price of liebherr, I installed liebherr over subzero 5 years ago in a family cottage kitchen remodel. Am very satisfied with the Liebherr Best of luck...See MoreFisher & Paykel Integrated 36" Refrigerator
