Kohler cast iron shower pan and frameless sliding shower door-doable?

When I planned my full gut remodel of my small bathroom I decided to use a Kohler cast iron shower pan in the alcove to replace the tub that was there. Because of the narrow clearances if I used a swinging door, I decided I wanted a sliding glass door. I didn't want anything with a track at the bottom. I found products like this that had the look and function I was after.

I met with a highly reputable company that bid the job, knowing I was planning a cast iron shower pan that could not be drilled into. Fast forward, the bathroom is done and I contacted the company. The person I had worked with was no longer with the company and the company owner said he did not recommend using what had been bid since he felt if the clips on the bottom were epoxied, the epoxy would eventually fail. He would not warranty the work. At all.

Even if I switched to a swinging door (doable, though the shower door would be narrower than I would prefer), I didn't put in extra blocking behind the tile because I didn't need it for what was originally planned. I'm currently using a shower curtain (I know some like them, but I'm not a fan).

From what I understand the do's and dont's for glass shower doors recommendations are all over the map. Obviously i want something that will last and that is safe. I was planning on using low iron glass with Showerguard. I can't believe I'm the first person to put in a cast iron shower pan and a sliding glass door. I'd appreciate any suggestions or information people have that I could learn from before I contact other shower door companies.

Thanks in advance- Lisa
