Cucumber leaves getting burned??

Was hoping the bright folks here can help my identify what is wrong with my cukes. They are producing like wildfire but the leaves are manifesting these strange "burn" marks. I use all organic fertilizers and they are planted in pots, if that makes any difference.

Either these 2: a fungal infection or an insect as the vector of a kind of virus. Might as well cut off those leaves and disposed it properly. Do not compost it nor leave it in your garden. That is contagious...

I have that problem every year. I even planted disease resistant varieties this year and I still got it. I managed to pick a dozen or so cukes already but I think my production will be coming to a conclusion soon since I am cutting off more leaves daily than are being replaced with new growth. I wish so badly I could figure this out. I've used Daconil weekly this year and still no change.

What have your night time temps been averaging? I'm further north but also zone 7 and I won't get my cukes going for at least a few weeks. You could give them some protection at night by covering them with an empty pot before the sun goes down and then removing it again in the morning so they don't cook during the day. I would check with your local agricultural extension for the best dates to sow them in your area and consider direct sowing some seeds. Odds are, they will catch up and surpass your transplants.

I have ants all over my plants as well--especially the cucumbers. They don't seem to be a problem though. At least, I don't have any of the yellowing leaves like you do, so the leaf problem might not be related. I'm a beginner as well though, so someone else might have better advice.

I hope that your 'recipe' doesn't cause problems for the plant. Whatever you do, don't apply it to the bottom of the leaves, where it will clog the pores...most of which can be located on on the underside. The white things are the shed skins of the developing aphids...as they get larger after being birthed, they have to get rid of their exoskeletons along the way.

Leave them. The leaves will drop naturally in a week or 2, but it will use those leaves to get as much food and energy from the sun as possible. Plus I dont think that its heathy for plumerias to bleed too much (which occurs everytime a leaf that is funtioning is broken). I dont think that if a plumeria bleeds it will be bad for its health, but too much of it might slow its growth a bit. -Alex

I've been cutting them off as I like to keep all of my garden plants "clean" I'm going to hit them with a super dose of fertilizer and see what that does.

be careful of fertilizers...plants that use them would produce a lot of aromatic amino acids. This can attract insects. Moreover, using a fertilizer with high N content would result to lush vegetation and less fruiting.

Try changing your soil pH by putting baking soda solution. Say 1 tablespoon per liter. If it is a fungal infection, the solution can kill the fungus. On the other hand, for viral and bacterial matters, try using a copper based agri grade solution.
