Comments (11)As a Master Gardener, may I suggest that you don't buy seeds or plants? They may have a plan that they are going to follow, and if you send them particular plants or seeds, they may feel obligated to use them even though they may not be the "right plant in the right place." Instead, how about a gift certificate to a nearby nursery? A family member once brought me a set of Burt's Bees products for gardeners. There are tons of gardening gadgets out there, if they like to garden. (Just because they're getting new landscaping doesn't mean they are avid gardeners though.) One item that I just saw on TV that I thought I'd like to have is that new clothing that has insect repellent imbedded into the fibers (link below). Or how about something for their home that is handmade in your area (meaning they can't get one locally), like a vase or a handwoven throw for those chilly nights? Email me if you want the name of someone who makes beautiful hand-turned wooden vases. If they entertain often, you could get them a set of nice wine glasses or other wine items, martini glasses, serving dishes, a big platter. It's always good to have plenty! I also like to receive placemats and napkins, but that could just be an obsession of mine. :-) Here is a link that might be useful: BUZZ OFF Insect Shield apparel...See Morebirthday gift from DD
Comments (3)Thanks, Susan, I have that pattern too and have used it many times for all sorts of ages. I like to use those yarn curls for the top decoration for little girls. They don't shed in the laundry like a pom-pom might. Well, she saw her ob today, and still no news of the sex. I guess after the next appointment in 4 weeks we will know for sure. So I have a month to plan. Donna, I will study the patterns and yarns. I may use the yarn to make a cardigan as you suggest and then make the hat in a solid coordinating color from the pattern Susan suggested with the first row of the cuff trimmed in the last of the special yarn. The hat could be a sport or worsted and just trimmed with the specialty yarn. Great ideas here. Ya know, I need more than 9 months to get all this layette stuff knitted and crocheted for our first grandbaby!...See MoreFamily against a gift I bought my dd!
Comments (20)I have two daughters, maybe what I will do is make one dress like a prostitute and the other dress like a respectable young lady, you know the type eleven going on twelve instead of twenty-seven and in heat, Oh this would be for the betterment of man kind doncha know. Of course the one that gets to dress like the prostitute will need to smoke and cuss, date seven guy in one week at the age of eleven, and drop out of school because she is to obsessed with boys to learn at the age of thirteen and pregnant. Of course the one who dresses respectable will need the most effort, having more self respect she will strive for a better education, not being distracted with boys, she will learn things her mother and I will not know, which will be threatening to our egos, she will earn more because she will think more of her shelf, the man she will marry will be a better man to her and their children. We do also have a son and for him I think I will tell him if he want some cheap non emotional sex with a girl, look for the one with the short skirt no bra, bare midriff showing and tattoos and a tongue piercing, but if he wants to have a fulfilling meaningful life with a lady not a pig, look for the one dressed modestly and yes this is Âmy choice I say if youÂre having second thoughts, that should tell you something right there. Of course the world need more porn stars and burger flipper. I am not there to be my childrenÂs friend, I am not their buddy I am dad, period What we say goes, temper that with love and physical affection, and yes hugs. Comments (19)Great suggestions! I was going to suggest a gift pack for Ryan Air so he can easily hop around the continent and a rolling travel duffel. Our DD studied for a year in London and her weekends were busy with travel. Maybe a gift card to Harrods? Some Tube tickets? Some Euro's in his stocking?...See Moreshellibeinke
