A few blooms for Thursday

Things are winding down rapidly everywhere but in my lates beds and on my fence border.

Best for Last, a late, gets to be first this time!

Kentucky Lucky, another Rice late, was just glowing in the sunshine.

Hoochie Coochie Man

Tigger sporting some freckles - it doesn't usually have the spots.

We Are the Champions

Waves Become Wings

Linda Beck is still showing multiples and has two rebloom scapes on the way.

Jeanne Deaver's Dream has only a couple more buds.

all are so pretty, Best for Last is gorgeous today. Hoochie Coochie Man is gorgeous as well.

Jean - Hooray, you got your username back! I had trouble adding photos and it automatically posted before I was finished. So I had to use edit to post the rest. Take another look. You may have missed about half of the photos.

Well you have many lovely flowers today. Yea I noticed about Hot Lava twice. Barney really is a huge bloom. Pretty Lily is very colorful. Enduring Freedom is also rich color. Rita: I have about 5 of Melanie's intros this year and I didn't expect scapes as tall as what was registered but 8 inches is really way off especially for her 2008 Intro. Not giving up yet. Just going to keep watching to see how they do next year. Watchyl Moon Beam did not bloom last year and this year it did but poorly. The sellers photo shows a whiter version. As you can see in the pic and what you would see in person it is a lemon yellow. fairysoapgirl: Spiritual Corridor is a really nice bloom. I just had a couple of splotchy marks as a FFO but overall the bloom was great. It's got wonderful scapes and buds so the show is just beginning. Itza Pink Teddy should be putting on a better show next year. Julia

I really like Best for Last, nice red on Hoochie Coochie Man too-& I like the name. Love the last flower, I always like watermarks, & it has a nice edge on it too.

Beautiful. I have Kentucky Lucky too and it will be awhile before it blooms here. We Are The Champions has a very intense throat color. Best For Last is stunning. At least you get to enjoy reblooms which we typically do not get here.

My favorite today is We Are the Champions. I like the simple flower with the big yellow throat , it's an eye catching combo.

Jeanne Deaver's Dream always looks perfect! That is my favorite, along with Linda Beck and Hoochie Coochie Man.

Eager to see Best for Last here. My Jean Deaver has yet to look anywhere near as good as yours. It is still in a pot, but producing smallish blooms that are often splotchy.

Mantis - Sorry to hear Jeanne Deaver's Dream is not producing good blooms for you. I have never had any problems with it - either in a pot or in the ground. I do seem to get larger blooms now that I have it in the ground. Do you have buds on Best for Last? I'm wondering if you will call it pink. I've always thought it was lavender, and Willow Dean Smith too.

Linda Beck has never been prolific for me. The blooms were nice this year, not as splotchy as most years, but it's been over for weeks now. ....That red sure pops out at you. I like the glowing quality of Hoochie Coochi Man. You sure have a good selection of reds going for you this year........Maryl

Maryl - I wonder why Linda Beck doesn't perform for you. You certainly have the heat she loves. Hoochie Coochie Man does glow in the sunlight. It was my favorite red for a couple of years. This is a replacement plant. I lost the original in a pot two winters ago. HCM keep its color all day in 92 degree heat with a heat index of 97 and lots of humidity. A lot of Kirchhoff's newer reds have HCM in the background.

Linda Beck is such a beautiful plant. It has been blooming for weeks in my garden. I don't think it has ever rebloomed for me though. It's one of my favorites.

Cheryl - Linda Beck almost always reblooms here, and some years reblooms on every scape. I've got to thank Kay for the plant because the first plant I got just didn't grow.

Thanks Debra for the enabling on Hoochie Coochie Man (lol). I may move Linda Beck to a different location to see if she improves. I've already given another pot of her away because she's been a marginal keeper for me. At least this year the color was good..........Maryl
