I think you can't go wrong with a KitchenAid Dishwasher. It seems everyone is very happy. We are pretty sure we have a KA dishwasher branded as Kenmore-Elite. We've had it for 6 years & it continues to work well. We just remodeled & it is the only appliance we did not change out. I have the Whirlpool Duet Steam Electric Dryer & regular washer and are very happy. Our clothes get very clean using very little water. I like the steam function on the dryer since it allows me to toss wrinkled, but clean clothes in the dryer & have them come out unwrinkled. I do need to be diligent about letting the washer & dispenser drawer air out since they can become musty. I try to do it between loads or at least once a week. I don't know anything about your other applicance choices although I have read a positive review about the GE profile Gas double oven range . . . Good luck.

Those latches are fine if the people in your home will actually DEPRESS it before trying to shut the cab. Out of 5, I was the only one who made the effort and I have a few very worn areas on the ones that are used by the family. I don't know that you can add anything to the existing glides. You might have to change them in order to get what you want. I recently installed an Ikea drawer, with the dampeners added, to my cabinet for a trash pullout. My 8 yr old had a moment before he figured out he needed to pull a bit harder to get it open, LOL!

I really do like them a lot. What you might want to try is to buy a couple of them & install them on your current cabs and see just how much trouble they will be to keep looking nice, if they exceed your threshold of cleaning pain. Or you could consider using a combination of pulls like a solid metal complimentary pull in the messy area of the kitchen and then use the glass ones in the showier areas, like on buffet cabs, for instance. Depending on you kitchen layout... Least ways, for me, I generally don't mind cleaning the things that I love. The trick, though, is staying in love. ;)

ODD, You may want to post on the Kitchen Forum. I am not sure what Self Close is. Soft close is to prevent the slamming of drawers and cabinet doors. They open like regular drawers without additional tension, and when you close the drawer, they slow down in the last inch or so and softly close the drawer. What is the brand of the drawer slides and mechanism in your drawer? I would not live without soft close, the Blum ones work wonderfully. Not as common here in the US but Hafele also makes good ones. Buffers and soft close don't work the same way. Buffer prevents the shutting of the drawer or door completely, so the fronts are held off the face of the cabinet by the depth of the buffer (plastic silicone stoppers). Soft close will fully close the drawer or door. The buffers also don't prevent the slamming noise:-) Found this information on Accuride's website, it looks like you have Self Close and they are functioning as designed. Good luck!
