Advice on kids' shared bedroom before listing
Comments (4)I agree with listing it now and with what others said about offering a paint allowance or offering to repaint it. I think the room is adorable and we don't even have children. I am probably in the minority, but I would have no problem leaving it with that paint and having my office in there! It's bright and fun! Our office in the home we just sold was painted a green faux technique which was quite dated. We planned to repaint it, but to our amazement some people actually LIKED it. We also had a retro blue accent wall in the living room that I thought may be offputting, but most people loved it and the woman who bought the house said that it was her favorite color. So... you never know! Also, in the house we are closing on, there is a child's bedroom painted in bright pink with a mural of a huge tree. Again, we don't have children, but it's so pretty that I plan on leaving the tree. I just plan to carefully paint around it in sky blue. So it all depends on your buyer. If you offer a paint allowance or to repaint I don't think you can go wrong. For me, I always look past the paint anyway. In the house we are buying, the entry is a bright orange. I may not mind that for an office, but not for an entry! ;)...See MoreShared kids bedroom paint help
Comments (5)The turquoise looks great! When my three big kids were little they shared a big attic room. Dtr was six and chose pepto bismol pink walls with raspberry pink woodwork, white curtains on her two windows. Five yo son chose sky blue walls with Royal blue woodwork, and three yo son chose Kelly green woodwork with lighter green walls. Their three windows had green, blue and white striped curtains. Sounds chaotic, but it was adorable. Their friends all wanted multi-colored rooms. I guess what I'm saying is they can be individuals in a shared space. Choose your paint(s) wisely! *Sheesh...See MoreNeed Paint Advice for Paint to go with Sea Salt in Master Bedroom

Comments (70)Hi everybody, After a few weeks t sit with some larger paint swatches (on a white background), I finally chose a color and did the deed! (Note that I may still change the pillow colors, etc, and we haven't gotten any artwork or photos back on the wall, but I wanted to show you all the general result, since so many people commented!) Here's the room now, in BM Slate Blue (mixed by SW during one of their sales). In the photo, it looks a bit more yellow, or something, than Celery's visualization above, but in person, the blue-gray colors come through and I love the result! I think it definitely leans more towards blue-green than blue-purple, which is nice too. Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions along the way!...See MoreRelated Professionals
